Kidde was founded in 1917 by Walter Kidde, where he went on to invent the first integrated smoke detection system, as well as producing the first portable carbon dioxide fire extinguisher. Kidde is the world's largest manufacturer of fire safety products, providing solutions which effectively protect people and property from the effects of fire and its related hazards. Its products include the latest fire detection and alarm technology, as well as multipurpose dry powder fire extinguishers.
